asda is lit

as every other girl on pinterest, i have a soft spot for all things marble and copper. now, urban outfitters has this aesthetic down to a T, but as you can’t expect they’re are a teeny bit out of my price range.

if you don’t know me, i’ve recently relocated to belfast, and unfortunately had to leave my beloved decor items at home due to my small suitcase space. so, i’ve been on the keen lookout for some bits and pieces; a replacement vinyl player, lamps, jewellery holder, drawers, etc. ya gal basically needs to buy everything all over again.

i’d been eyeing up some pinterest tutorials, because i really can’t afford to literally re-buy every cute little thing i bought during my three years at uni. over the past couple of years, i’ve seen these copper jewellery holders all over diy pages and youtube channels, which offered cheap alternatives to uber expensive store-bought versions.

i don’t know about you, but i honestly would have no idea at all where to procure copper pipes and whatnot (great diy blog i know). i just didn’t know where to start.

some time last week i popped into town to potentially scout some diy materials, but what did i actually find? the holy grail itself!

in asda i found two amazing sale finds; a marble and copper jewellery holder, and a copper wire letter rack. i remember seeing these once upon a time for £8 and £6 respectively, but couldn’t bring myself to pay that much. these amazing pieces were down to £3 and £2 in store, and even down to 80p on the asda website (although these were out of stock almost instantly).

the jewellery holder works perfectly, with the two smaller sections working amazingly for my chokers and rings. the letter rack, albeit a little crooked, works perfectly as a makeup palette holder! a great little hack i found from Hermione Chantal (Youtube) when she found a similar copper letter rack in home bargains (although hers was the hefty price of £4).

i’m heading into town this weekend for a job interview, but i’m also going to scout out some diy materials and do some thrifting. i had planned on my first proper post to be a haul, but all the items i’ve bought since moving here are currently in the wash so i’ll have to postpone that update!

stay groovy
